 | | The University of Wisconsin Foundation, the private fundraising entity for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is seeking a talented graphics professional to join our communications team comprising three writers, a managing editor, a web and multimedia manager, and a publication production manager, all reporting to the Managing Senior Director of External Relations. The Creative Specialist will assist with a wide variety of integrated marketing and communications projects, ranging from designing print projects to web sites. |

 | Primary Responsibilities | |
- Design and produce invitations, brochures, newsletters, web sites, HTML e-mails.
- Assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the UW Foundation web site.
- Work effectively with editors, writers, technical developers and other members of the UW Foundation.
- Collaborate with the production-and-design team (writer, proofreader, designer, photographer, printer) on each project, sometimes serving as designer.
- Obtain photos and arrange photo shoots working closely with the creative team.
- Prepare photo and data files to ensure specifications are met and that cost and quality meet the needs and expectations of the constituencies/units.
- Work closely with outside vendors in various capacities.
- Assist in creating, compiling and collecting images as needed.

 | Qualifications & Experience | |
- A Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts or related area required.
- Minimum of five years of communication-related experience including knowledge of web and multimedia design and communications principles are required.
- A minimum of three to five years of experience designing for mixed media including web and print is desired.
- Superior computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver and Fireworks) as well as experience with standards-compliant HTML/XHTML and CSS, web design tools, content management systems and related Internet technologies.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, excellent communication skills, including oral and written are essential.
- Understanding of print and web production technologies.
- Ability to produce for various medial channels such as web, print and multimedia.
- A thorough understanding of web and print design as well as industry best practices.
