The primary reason we decided to start a scholarship was the gratitude we felt toward those who provided funding for the scholarships we earned while in medical school. We wanted to start something that would grow as our careers grew. | | The Mills Music Library and the Kohler Art Library are approaching the limits of their capacity to serve library users in their present locations. The time has come to consider the future library requirements of the visual, material and performing arts at UW-Madison.
The UW-Madison is exploring future options for renewing and integrating the facilities at the heart of the arts and humanities. A new library for the arts would provide the intellectual crossroads for the learning and research communities in music, dance, design, art history and the graphic and decorative arts. Such a library would open new opportunities for collaboration, preservation and technical innovation in the presentation and delivery of information by and about the arts community on campus.
Creating such a library will require the vision and enthusiasm of a major donor. However, we know from the experience of other institutions that the most successful new arts libraries are closely aligned and connected to the academic programs that they serve.
Named Library of the Arts: Gift of $20 million or more. |
