The solid foundation I received at UW has opened many doors for me. I think it is important to give while you are 'alive and taking nourishment,' and it will be such a joy to see the new building on its completion. - Mary Behrens ('64 BS Nursing) |
| | Demand for breadth and depth of coverage, timeliness and information in all formats has never been greater. Over the years donors have significantly enriched the libraries through the establishment of special funds and endowments. These funds support the ongoing purchase and conservation of books, journals and other materials.
The Library collections support the curricular needs of every college, school and academic department and program on campus. Every student--undergraduate, graduate and special--has access to these collections. Scholarly material is provided in all formats from traditional books and journals to electronic resources that can be accessed locally from dorms, offices and homes as well as by faculty and students worldwide.
A collections endowment can be established to support resources in any field. It can be customized to support a broad group of materials such as music, art, art history, international studies and history or a more focused resource such as the image archive for visual and material culture. For example, the new Leonora G. Bernstein Endowment for Artists' Books was created recently in the Kohler Art Library. |
