The idea of connecting with current students has always been a motivating factor for me when it comes to donating. One of the most gratifying benefits of endowing an instrument in the UW Band is that I've been able to follow my students through their collegiate careers. |  | The Department of Art serves the entire university, including 520 undergraduate majors. The department's programs are now located principally in the Humanities Building, but they also are housed in several outlying buildings, most of which are in very poor condition and are slated for demolition.
A new building would provide up-to-date facilities for the department's programs in fine art glass, sculpture and ceramics. A new building also would bring the department's programs together, fostering creative interaction. For the last few years, the Campus Planning Committee has ranked a new art building as project number one among the University's building needs.
The building is eligible to move to the planning process when it is clear that combined public and private support is sufficient to complete the building. |
