Virgie and I feel strongly about this fellowship because graduate students made my program.

Senior Class Gifts

Congratulations, Seniors!

Make a Gift as Part of the Senior Class Gift CampaignDuring your time at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, alumni and friends were making gifts that had a direct impact on the quality of your UW experience. This support comprises 19% of the current UW budget – more than all of the students’ tuition combined! Without private support, the education you received would have been immeasurably different. This is your chance to express your appreciation for the University that you love while continuing this important tradition of giving.

You have the power to support the area of campus that you care about most. Here are some ideas:
  • UW Libraries- welcome gifts to support library collections and services that might otherwise not be available to students and faculty. Gifts may be directed to any one of 41 libraries or any of the hundreds of library programs that serve the academic disciplines at UW-Madison.
  • Scholarship Fund- responds to the rising need for additional scholarship support. Your gift will help students attend the UW who might not otherwise be able to.
  • The Wisconsin Union- receives no public funding and is completely self-supporting, so gifts are important to uphold the mission and programs. Your support will provide Rathskellar and Terrace memories for many years to come.
  • Your School or College- gifts support immediate needs as they arise, such as updated technology, new programs, innovative research and facility enhancements. These improvements to your school or college have a positive impact on future UW students and enhance the value of your degree.
Commencement
No matter what unit or department you support and no matter how much you give (whether you give $100 or $20.08 to commemorate your year of graduation), your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar by alumni and friends of the UW (up to $40,000 total for the Class of 2008)!

Not only that, but the University Book Store will contribute $.25 for each gown that is rented for graduation. Since 2004, their gifts have totaled over $3,000 – all to benefit the people and programs of the UW!

The class of 2007 raised thousands of dollars for various programs that support scholarships, technology, building renovations, student support and faculty retention. We know the Class of 2008 can do better. Show your Badger spirit, and let’s make 2008 the most successful year ever!

On Wisconsin!
