The primary reason we decided to start a scholarship was the gratitude we felt toward those who provided funding for the scholarships we earned while in medical school. We wanted to start something that would grow as our careers grew. | | Student efforts have raised millions | | Each year, the UW Foundation employs over 400 students to contact alumni, parents, and friends personally. Last year, UW students contacted over 138,000 people by phone and raised over $3.8 million for the Schools, Colleges, units, departments and programs on campus.
Alumni are contacted on behalf of their respective school or college. The money raised allows the deans to address the most pressing needs while taking advantage of emerging opportunities. Generally, funds obtained through this program support scholarship aid, graduate fellowships, technology, student services, library acquisitions and faculty support. |
