I believe my gifts are most useful in an unrestricted way. It’s hard for me as an outsider to know the best way to allocate the money. I trust the dean to use it where it will do the most good at that time.

Bascom Hill Society

Bascom Hill Society logoThrough the Bascom Hill Society, the University of Wisconsin Foundation honors major donors to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The mission of the Society is to provide a framework for those alumni and friends whose generous support contributes to the University’s standing as one of the most respected teaching and research institutions in the world.

The Bascom Hill Society represents an important force in helping the UW continue its pursuit of pre-eminence. Even with growth and evolution, the basic goals of the Society remain the same as those identified when the organization was chartered in 1965:
  • To encourage and foster continued support of the University
  • To provide a framework within which lasting gifts and bequests can be made
  • To assure proper recognition and support of donors in their efforts to ensure the bright future of the University
  • To establish meaningful dialogue with the University community
