I wanted to do something for my university, of which I am very proud. I wanted to recognize and support an excellent teacher.

Gift Creates Ceramic Visiting Artist Program

Ronald B. Starr's gift to the Ceramics Visiting Artist Fund has allowed the UW-Madison art department to bring seven renowned artists to campus. In addition to sharing their teaching experience, each lecturer has been asked to leave a gift of one or two pottery pieces that will create a visiting artist collection. Ron ('80 BBA Bus), Buffalo Grove, Illinois, who also has given an additional pledge to be spread over the next two years, became a full-time pottery artist following the sale of Consolidated Service Corporation, the family business located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

Today, he shows his work in galleries and conducts workshops for children in the public schools. A member of the School of Education Board of Visitors, Ron enjoys returning to Madison to meet the visiting lecturers.
